The day after I officially walked away from Sendible, I decided to take a “ME” day. I drove to a remote village, went for a run, then went to a coffee shop with my laptop.
I had planned to start working on a Sendible memorabilia wall.
As I started flipping through old photos, the wave of nostalgia totally hampered my ability to complete the project. The sadness that I’d never get to celebrate another company milestone with the team really got to me.
But I also had this crippling feeling that my shrine to Sendible needed to be perfect.
There were so many photos to choose from. So many incredible people to honour. And so many stories to tell. Where the heck would I start?
Finally, after putting it off for 6 months, yesterday, I decided to sit down and start designing it in Figma.
To say I had a hard time deciding which photos to pick would be an understatement. And it’s far from perfect.
But the important thing is that I started.
I really struggled to get going at first, but as soon as I was able to visualise what it could be, the momentum carried me forward.
It's a reminder that it’s progress, not perfection, that truly counts.
When you adopt a progressive mindset, your goals become far more attainable. And, in most cases, you will end up far beyond the point of what you had originally thought was perfection. [Click to tweet this]
So, instead of striving for perfection, strive for progress!
